The objective of the game is to get player 4 "the server" out. Opponents on either side of the net hit the ball back and forth until one side commits a rule infraction.

Player 4, in square 4, is the server. Player 4 serves the ball to Player 2 who is diagonally across also in square 2

Player 2 must then let the ball bounce before returning it back over the net, to either player 3 or 4.

After player 2 returns the ball, it is up to the receiver at that point to either let the ball bounce once or hit it before it hits the ground.

The objective of the game is to get player 4, the server out. One can do this by getting player 4 to mess up. Players 1 and 2 are the only ones who can get player 4 out.

Once anyone messes up they leave the square they are in, and go to the end of the line. Everyone remaining rotates up to the next square. Only the player in square 4 gets points for every round he or she remains in square 4.
